A Final Embrace: The Most Haunting Photograph from Bangladesh
2013 Savar building collapse or Rana Plaza collapse was a structural failure that occurred on 24 April 2013 in the Savar Upazila of Dhaka, Bangladesh where an eight-story commercial building named Rana Plaza, collapsed. The search for the dead ended on 13 May 2013 with a death toll of 1,129.
Approximately 2,515 injured people were rescued from the building alive.
It is considered the deadliest garment-factory accident in history, as well as the deadliest accidental structural failure in modern human history.

Protesters Killed in Kiev (6 Photos)
Thursday, February 20, 2014. Fierce clashes between police and protesters, some including gunfire, shattered a brief truce in Ukraine’s besieged capital killing numerous people. The deaths came in a new eruption of violence just hours after the country’s embattled president and the opposition leaders demanding his resignation called for a truce and negotiations to try to resolve Ukraine’s political crisis.

The Boston Marathon bombings and subsequent, related shootings were a series of attacks and incidents which began on April 15, 2013, when two pressure cooker bombs exploded during the Boston Marathon at 2:49 pm EDT, killing 3 people and injuring an estimated 264 others. The bombs exploded about 12 seconds and 210 yards (190 m) apart, near the finish line on Boylston Street.
