DEATH Of An Engineer by Horse Sex - Kenneth Pinyan, USA

It's not the most pleasant way to die. It's not even the most pleasant thing to think of. But Kenneth Pinyan, the man who died after having sex with his horse, would change the bestiality law in Washington state making bestiality a Class C felony, punishable by a maximum of five years in a state prison or a $10,000 fine, or both.

In 2005, Kenneth Pinyan (June 22, 1960 – July 2, 2005), an American Boeing engineer residing in Gig Harbor, died from injuries received during anal sex with a stallion at a farm in an unincorporated area in King County, Washington, near the city of Enumclaw. With a population of 10,669 people, Enumclaw is a horse town near the base of Mt. Rainier.

During a July 2005 sex act, videotaped by a friend, he suffered a perforated colon from receptive anal intercourse from a stallion and later died of his injuries. The story was reported in The Seattle Times and was one of that paper's most read stories of 2005. It was informally referred to as the "Enumclaw horse sex case". The video footage was later disseminated through the Internet.

The incident occurred at a 40-acre (16 ha) farm, located in an unincorporated area in King County, Washington, northwest of the city of Enumclaw. Pinyan, and a man named James Michael Tait (who lived in a trailer next to the farm), plus another unidentified man, often visited the farm to engage in sexual intercourse with the horses inside.

Prosecutors later determined that the horse had not been injured by being allowed to engage in sex in this manner. According to the Medical Examiner's Office, Pinyan "died of acute peritonitis due to perforation of the colon", and the death was ruled accidental.

Other factors surrounding the death were apparently that Pinyan, concerned about appearing in a hospital with an unusual internal injury and the effect on his security clearance as an engineer for aerospace company Boeing, had apparently refused his friends' urging to go to the hospital for several hours after being aware he was internally injured. He was anonymously dropped off at the Enumclaw Community Hospital. On July 2, 2005, a man asked hospital staff for medical assistance for his companion. Pinyan was found dead in the emergency room. The man who brought Pinyan into the hospital had disappeared by the time hospital staff came to contact him.

Media reports at the time of the trial suggested that despite seizing and examining carefully a large number of such videos from the property, no evidence of injury to the horses was found, precluding animal cruelty charges, and that the trespass charge against Tait were brought due to lack of grounds for any other matter:

Everyone knows about Kenneth Pinyan's death, but little is known about his life.

The Enumclaw Police Department stated that he was involved with Tait and the other man for about a year, and that he met the pair on the internet. Also, Pinyan worked at Boeing for eight years. Outside of that, all that's left in the public records is a document, a deed of trust, which was filed less than a month before Pinyan died. It is for a house Pinyan purchased in Gig Harbor on the Key Peninsula Highway. In the deed, Boeing Employees Credit Union trusts that "Kenneth D. Pinyan, an unmarried man" will repay over 30 years the amount of $144,000. Though the house is not close to the Boeing plants in Renton or Everett, or to Big Dick in Enumclaw, Pinyan moved into it anyway.

He would die before he could make his first mortgage payment.

• In 2009, Tait and two other people were jailed in Maury County, Tennessee, accused of engaging in bestiality. In January 2010 Tait pleaded guilty in a Tennessee court to engaging in sexual acts with animals, and he was placed on probation.
• As of 2012, having sex with animals is illegal in 37 U.S. states. Most of the individual anti-zoosexual state laws were created recently (between 1999 and 2012).  This means bestiality is still legal in 16 states!
• A one-eyed man was executed for bestiality in 1642 in Connecticut after a local sow gave birth to a one-eyed piglet.
• Animal Farm is the name given to the infamous pornographic bootleg video featuring 'Animal Lover' Bodil Joensen having sex with various animals including an eel. The tape was made up of various clips (from film's Bodil stared in) and loops (mostly from the Color Climax Corporation in Denmark). The video was apparently smuggled into the U.K. in 1981 and made the rounds in the underground market. In 2006 the U.K. documentary show "The Dark Side of Porn" examined the film and it's star in the episode 'The Real Animal Farm.
